These are the statuses normally used for the most common activities of international visitors and nonimmigrant employees at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Each case needs to be evaluated separately. There are situations and individuals for which the most common status will not work. Permanent, full-time employees are sometimes sponsored for permanent resident (green card) status.
