What is ISSSTRAINS?

ISSSTRAINS is series of training offering that are designed to help the campus community gain a foundation in many areas of international education, including cultural competence and intercultural communication, to best meet the needs of students and peers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

What are the different tracks?

We are currently offering three different tracks: Orange, Blue and Gray.

Blue Train Track : The blue track is designed as an introduction to intercultural communication, which will help set the foundation for intercultural learning. These modules are contain broad based learning for a variety of applications.

Orange Train Track: The orange track is designed to focus on specific areas of communication within your everyday work exchanges.

Gray Train Track: The gray track is designed to provide our campus community specifically with an understanding of the contribution that international students bring to our campus community, and an overview of campus resources. It is also the only track that offers a unique opportunity to engage with students directly about their journey to the University of Illinois and their cultural experience on campus and beyond.

How can I earn a certificate?

There are four modules that comprise each track. Certificates are earned upon completion of all four modules in a track.

How do I know if I have completed a track?
